On 19 September 2026, TLG Foundation joined Associação Casa da Índia at Alameda Park in Lisbon for the 7th Festival Gandhi — a full-day public celebration of peace, integration and cultural exchange running from 10:00 to 22:00. It was a day built on community, and the Foundation’s team was there from setup to teardown, supporting the event on the ground and standing alongside a partner organisation we’re proud to work with.

Setting Up for a Full Day at Alameda Park
Ahead of the doors opening, the Foundation’s team was on-site building the community hub tent, running cable and helping raise the stage that would carry the day’s performances and speeches in front of Alameda’s fountain.

A Community Hub in the Heart of the Festival
TLG Foundation set up a dedicated community hub on-site — a point of information, engagement and contact for the thousands of visitors who came through Alameda Park over the course of the day. Our volunteers welcomed guests, answered questions and held conversations with people from every background, while also taking part in an event built around Indian and Portuguese cultural exchange, performance and shared experience.
Beyond the hub itself, Foundation representatives engaged directly with organisers, participants and community leaders throughout the day — conversations that strengthened existing relationships and opened the door to future collaboration.

Music, Dance and a Shared Stage
Through the afternoon and into the evening, the Alameda stage carried the cultural side of the festival — traditional dance, music and performance that gave the day its energy and drew families and passers-by into the crowd.

Behind the Scenes: Logistics and Partnership
A public festival of this scale depends on the work nobody sees. TLG Foundation supported installation and dismantling, electrical works, tents and mounting, alongside creative and digital support, on-site coordination, hospitality and food-service operations. Associação Casa da Índia specifically highlighted this support in their acknowledgement of the Foundation’s role across the event.

Visible, Practical and Ready for the Public
A coordinated set of branded materials supported the Foundation’s presence and made our volunteers easy to find and easy to trust: 20 TLG t-shirts, 50 TLG pins, 2 roll-up banners, 100 flyers, printed volunteer ID cards, a Foundation tri-fold brochure and volunteer service certificates — all carrying the Festival Gandhi 2026 visual identity developed jointly with Associação Casa da Índia.

Family Friendly, Front to Back
Festival Gandhi drew families out for the whole day, and the programme reflected that — free entry, a full afternoon of activities, and space for children to just be children between the stalls and the stage.
Our Team on the Ground
None of this happens without people willing to give their day to it. Seven volunteers represented the Foundation at Festival Gandhi 2026, coordinated by Project Manager Kazi Fahim:
- Bandhamukta
- Tarandeep Kaur
- Shafaat Saleem
- Sumeet Singh
- Tejinder Singh
- Anjana Basnet
- Roylie Santhmayer

A Platform for What Comes Next
Festival Gandhi 2026 left the Foundation with direct community contact, a visible volunteer network with new people interested in supporting future activities, consistent brand visibility through booth materials and printed communication, and — above all — renewed momentum in our partnership with Associação Casa da Índia. It’s a strong practical basis for continued joint work, and we’re already looking ahead to what we build together next.
