Annual Reports

Transparency, from the start

TLG Foundation was instituted on 27 July 2023. As a newly recognised foundation, we are preparing our first published activity and financial reports.

What we publish

What each report contains

Our reporting is built to answer the questions a funder, partner or municipality would actually ask.

 • Activity narrative — what we set out to do, what was delivered, and what changed along the way.
 • Programme results — beneficiaries reached, courses delivered and partnerships signed.
 • Financial statements — income, expenditure and the position of the endowment.
 • Auditor’s opinion — the independent view of our statutory auditor.
 • Governance record — decisions taken and how each body was involved.

How decisions are made

From proposal to approval, four steps.

1 · Propose

The Executive Board prepares plans, budgets and programme proposals.

2 · Approve

The Board of Directors decides, represents the Foundation and commits it.

3 · Review

The statutory auditor issues an independent opinion on the accounts and budget.

4 · Ratify

The Founders’ Council approves the annual report and accounts.

Why we report this way

Three principles behind how we account for our work.

Approved separately

The body that prepares the accounts is not the body that approves them. Two stages, two sets of eyes.

Independently checked

Our accounts are reviewed by a registered statutory auditor who holds no management role in the Foundation.

Published in full

We publish the complete report rather than a summary, alongside our constitutional documents

Common questions

A few things we’re asked often.

Oliveira Reis & Associados, a registered statutory auditor (ROC), acts as our Fiscal Único. Under our statutes the auditor may not simultaneously hold any administration or management post in the Foundation.

We welcome partnership inquiries from public entities, cultural institutions, businesses and civil society organisations. Please write to info@tlg.foundation with an outline of your proposal, and our team will follow up.

Yes. The deed of institution, the restated statutes and the recognition notice are all listed on our Governance page.

Our financial year runs from 1 January to 31 December.
